FEDERATION OF AFRICAN ENGINEERING ORGANISATIONS (FAEO)

FAEO/ED/CORRES/2021/114

The President,

The Engineer Order of Tunisia,

Tunisia

SUPPORT FOR THE RECENT ENGINEERING MOVEMENTS IN TUNISIA

Compliments from the Federation of African Engineering Organisations (FAEO). We have noted in recent times , the call made by the Order of Tunisian Engineering for better conditions of service for engineers on Tunisia. We believe that engineers provide services that are central to modern life but unfortunately, their work is not always fully appreciated as it often takes place behind the scenes and out of the limelight. Nevertheless, no nation can develop without the contribution of its own engineers.

In view of the critical importance of engineering to national development, we call on the Tunisia government to open the door to dialogue with the Order of Tunisian Engineering and find a lasting solution to the problems that have been articulated by the Order. We trust that this will leave the workforce motivated and better able to contribute their quota to the sustainable development of the country.

On our part, FAEO, is the apex body that represents the interest of all engineering practitioners in Africa, most notably at the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO), International fora and at the African Union (AU) , stands ready to assist the Order. Our mission is to serve humanity through the use of best practiced technology and we are ready to work with the Order to build the capacity of engineers so that they can help accelerate the country’s development.

Please accept, Sir , the assurances of our highest consideration.

Yours sincerely,

For: FEDERATION OF AFRICAN ENGINEERING ORGANISATIONS

Ing. (Mrs) Carlien Bou-Chedid, FGhIE
